Trail Runner

So today's adventure was an 18 mile run / hike up a trail.  Here are my tips for a Saturday trail run.

1.  Always let someone know where you are going because you don't want to lose an arm or something like the guy in 127 hours.  I told my fateletes on my facebook coach page where I was going today...kind of.  I think if no one had heard from me, my friend Jamie would have called someone if I didn't post my return on fb (thanks babe).

2.  Wear something cute, this will help make your run more of a spectator sport.

3.  Wear sunscreen or you will end of with a stupid sports bra tan line... like I now have.  Frick!!!

4. When not running try climbing, become a goat if you need too. LOL

5.  When needing to pee make sure you check that no one else can see you and then find a nice bush to hide behind.  Also check for snakes, you don't want something jumping up and biting your rear.  Also give yourself a sec to drip dry.  Grossed out yet, yeah me too, let's move on.

6.  Explore.

7.  Become a hot mess.

8.  Relax afterwards and drink a recovery drink.

Me, a hot mess. LOL

100 Miles

Well at least this lady can. LOL

So how do I follow up yesterday's blog "Whore"?  Well it's going to be tough, I mean once you have called yourself a whore (in my case an attention whore) there isn't much left is there?  So I'll post a running chart that will get you 100 miles in every month.

Now I know running is not for everyone, some of you have shin splints, bad knees, bad feet, whatever... it's ok, running is not for everyone.  But I love it!  Especially trail running.  I feel like trail running is easier than running a path or on the road because I find myself on my toes more and I like the soft dirt and sand (yes lots of sand here in So Utah).

Counting my miles started back in December when my friend Kara challenged her friends to run/walk 70 miles in a month.  But Kara told me she would try for 80 miles.  So my competitive side took over and I thought well then I will do 90 miles.  As December neared an end I realized I was close to a 100 miles and at that point why not just run100 miles.  I ran 100 miles again in January, and February I was close like (94 miles) and this month I plan on doing it again!

Here is my running schedule and yes, I run on Sunday.  You can do a lot of praying on a trail.

Sunday 6 miles
Monday 4 Miles
Tuesday 6 Miles
Wednesday 4 miles
Thursday 4 Miles
Friday.. Rest its the weekend go have fun tonight because tomorrow you run again
Saturday 12 miles

Need running music try this site www.rockmyrun.com  Today this site is featuring my favorite slutty singer Britney Spears.  (Gosh I am just letting the derogatory female slang flow lately ain"t I?  I need to work on that)   Here are my fav Brit songs

Toxic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOZuxwVk7TU&ob=av2e
If U Seek Amy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aEnnH6t8Ts&ob=av2e

Mix up your runs, go new places, see new things.  Some days go fast and other days go slow.  Don't be afraid of hills, your ass will thank you later for it and you'll rock a bikini.   In fact I try to go faster up hills just to prove I can.  Don't be afraid to run down hill and if someone is next to you, race them, just don't tell them that is what you are doing.  LOL  Have a great Friday!!

Whore

Last night it was pointed out to me, that I am an attention whore.  What the fu… Did I just call myself a whore.  Yes, yes I did.  But you say “Amy, maybe you should be called an attention slut because whores get paid?” Well actually things like this blog, make me money, and this blog gets me attention, therefor qualifying me as an official attention whore.  Whoo hoo!  The “whoo hoo” is for the money not being a whore.
Pay attention to me already LOL
Here is what I diagnosed about myself last night (during the hours of 3am and 7am).  I was in a neglectful marriage for 15yrs (to be fair only about 10 yrs seemed to be neglectful) and I neglected myself (you know, the whole let's be a great big fatty deal) for about the same amount of time.  So now I want attention!! Lots of a attention!!!  And I have tons of attention to give. 10 freakin years worth!!
Ok I am glad you are all here to share this with, and to give me more attention.  Holy crap, I may be damaged goods at this point and beyond repair.
Alright I need to go work (at my real job) and make more money.  Not because money will solve any of my issues but because it might pay for therapy.  Or, that way I can afford the physical therapy which I will need after I run about 35+ miles this weekend.  Running is still the only way I can think clearly most days.  You will also find me the next week doing not stop insanity workouts mixed with major core work. Why?  Because I am still trying to make up for the 10 yrs of neglect on my body too.
Anyways, I just thought I would share with you the fact that I may be gorging myself on attention.  For now it’s going to make my life difficult and some other people’s lives too.  I apologize in advance.  I really will try to stop my whoring ways. LOL

Finding Love

Why do I exercise?

Because it will helps me find love.

Exercise helps me find love for myself.  It helps me love who I use to be, who I am, and who I someday will be.  I helps me find my potential.  It helps me think about "someday".  And when I love myself, someone special can love me too.

Love thy self.
It's not about being thin, its about loving yourself enough to take care of your body.

They Will Tell You NO

All your life you are told the things you cannot do.  All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough, they'll say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this.

THEY WILL TELL YOU NO!

A thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless.  All your life they will tell you no. quite firmly and very quickly.  They will tell you no, and

YOU WILL TELL THEM YES

Catch Me If You Can

It's Friday!!!

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/oBS6wXy3Yjo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Well if you all didn't know by my Jello Leg Workout I am working on my legs and butt this month.  I want to make sure I look good in shorts now that the weather is getting nice here in So Utah. I also want  to get a personal best for a upcoming race (Hollywood  1/2 marathon) so I have been training hard on my speed and endurance the past few weeks.

I'm getting faster, I'm getting better.  It won't be me chasing you, it will be you chasing me.

Here is a whole bunch of butt pics to keep you all motivated this weekend, and to keep my male readers, reading these Friday posts.  LOL

Runners legs rock!

High and Tight

I did lunges until I thought my legs would fall off this week.

I'm not playing hard to get, I am hard to get.  Catch me if you can!

Go Ahead Toot Your Own Horn

Submitted by a loyal fatlete and awesome friend Marla.  Still hoping she becomes a coach soon.
"I have a story to share, I hope it helps to keep you all motivated. I'm not trying to "toot my own horn"' just excited about the difference exercise can make in your life. Two months ago my husband asked me to go street striding with him. A street strider is like an elliptical machine on wheels, that you ride on the street. I thought sure I can do that, no big deal. Well after half a mile I had to stop & rest, I seriously thought I was going to die. My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest and my legs burned so bad. I never wanted to do it ever again. Well today I tried it again after a month of doing Turbofire, and it was awesome! I rode for 3.7 miles and I could have gone further. I am excited to see how far I can go next time. It was a great reality check for me on how my body is responding to regular exercise. So keep it up everyone, you are worth it!!"

Remember What's Most Important

It's not having everything go right,
It's facing whatever goes wrong.
It's not being without fear,
It's having the determination to go on in spite of it.
Remember every day ends
and bring a new tomorrow, full of new exciting things.
So love what you do,
Do the best you can,
and always remember how much you are loved.

A pic to keep my guy readers, reading this blog.  And no this is not me!  I don't have boobs HA

Do I Delete The Fat Girl

Last night it was pointed out to me that there are many pictures of my ex husband on my facebook.  So  I thought I would delete most of them to give me a clean timeline.  (You all know its about the timeline LOL)

Today, as I started this process of deleting Gary (the ex) and I thought should I delete all my fatty pictures too?  Do I want a clean timeline of that too?  Such a difficult question.  First, because so many people I just met don't believe me when I say I was fat (the fat pics are my proof) and the pictures help motivate so many fatletes.  But then there is that part of me, that doesn't want any of you to think of me as that fat girl.  Or have the "Fat Amy" image in your head.  I just don't want to be remembered as that girl.  I didn't like that girl all the time, and that girl didn't like herself.

Ok, for now some will remain.  But just a few, because I don't need reminded of my past but need to focus on the future.

Bikini Ready?

Since losing the weight everyone knows I love wearing bikinis, or maybe I just love buying them.  So if your tummy is not bikini ready here is the workout to try (3 times a week).  It will only take about 3 weeks for this to pay off.  This is not a core fat burning workout, if you need one of those email me or facebook me.  So if you have a role on the mid-section this will not help a ton.

Do all exercise with core tight, stay in control, and focus on your muscles.  Sorry no breaks just keep going on this workout.

I Run

I run until I am red in the face. I run until my shirt and pants are wet with sweat.  I run until I cry.  I run until I want to puke.  I run until I hear nothing but my own heart.  I run until the pain in my legs is greater than the pain in my heart.

Yeah runners have to be the craziest people of them all.

What's All The Cackling About?

Last night I went to bunco (yes, I play bunco), it had been a month since our last game, so I had to catch all the hens up on my life as a newly single chick. The bunco ladies were super supportive, and found out a few of them were on their second marriage. I had a great time and one of the best parts is that one of the girl (a beachbody client) could not say enough good things about Turbofire or how she craves exercise now.  Oh, I loved it! Marla, please become a coach! You are doing so awesome and you really can motivate others.  I can hear it in your voice, you are fired up, and you have crossed into the fit zone.  You motivated me!  Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Dear Scale

Sent to me today by a fatlete who has came a long way.  I love this girl and what she is doing. Please read.

Dear Scale,

I know we have a love hate relationship, but today I love you, today I was super scared to look cause I've been feeling plump the past 2 weeks. But when I saw the number stop at 234. I got off and checked to make sure the pin was on 0; got back on and it said 234...which means. My first preg. Doc appt, I was 234. I am pre baby weight!! I will love you even more if we get the numbers down to 200 (my skinniest ever) thanks for dealing w/ me cussing at you. I apologize; and thank you for being w/ me even though I'm sure I hurt you when I stood on u and it said 275. You are the true friend who will tell you the truth even if we are mad! Xoxo

It Hurts

NEW RULE!  That's something we use to shout out around the house when we wanted to make a change, like how the dishwasher was loaded or what time the dog needed walked in the morning.  Shouting "new rule" didn't always work but sometime it helped let us see that a change was needed or that something could be handled in a better way.

So I have a made a new rule for the way I count my reps during workouts, especially for ab workouts and leg toning maneuvers (maneuvers, yeah things get complicated up in here).

Don't start counting until it already hurts.

Like last night, I was doing crunches (I like to do 50) and I didn't even start counting until I was already feeling it.  Let's just consider it the new math for exercising.

If it hurts it's working and most things worth doing or worth having sometimes cause pain. Hope I didn't just burst someones bubble with that little fact.

And I hope my new rule helps you make a change.  As always if you need a coach checkout my site www.beachbodycoach.com/amycobine

What Does She Eat

Well poo, this blog isn’t writing its’ self.  Many of you have asked about my diet
My diet, here is what an average day looks like for me.
I eat a small breakfast, when I remember to eat breakfast, either a pancake with the kids or oatmeal.  I do not add sugar to my oatmeal, and my pancakes are home made with flax seed and usually some kind of fruit.   I do not eat any of it with butter, sugar, and syrup.
For lunch I have either my Shakeology or a sandwich.  If I have a sandwich I never have a side item, like chips or a cookie. The sandwich is either veggie or turkey.  If I order a sandwich from a restaurant, I never eat the whole thing, only half, because a sandwich from any restaurant or fast food place is twice the portion I need.
For dinner I eat either rice with veggies, or pasta, or chicken with veggies.  I am not carb shy, I love em, and I just don’t eat them all day long.  If for some reason I cannot eat the dinner I have made my family because of my allergies my back up is always a bowl of grapenuts with coconut milk.
I eat snacks all most all day, small snacks.  I must eat 2-3 bananas a day and I eat peanut butter by the spoonfuls.  I also eat a lot of fruit and fruits like berries are my favorite evening snack  You cannot over eat raspberries and if you did, you would just being cleaning out your colon (ha ha that grossed me out).  When I eat packaged foods or snacks like nuts, I only eat a serving, and I measure what a serving is according to the package of what I am eating.  Many prepared foods or packaged foods are easy to over eat.
I prefer to work out before I eat. I normally stop eating after 9 pm.  I drink only water most of the time.  I drink juice and milk maybe once a week.  I never drink soda or coffee.  I drink lots of water all day long, but especially before bed (I’m not sure why).
I avoid dairy, as hard as that it.  I avoid meat (I just don’t like it that much).  I avoid potatoes; again that one is difficult for me, because I love a good fried potato.  I avoid the extras that come with meals when I am out.  I don’t eat the side dishes and I don’t add bread or salads to my meals.  That’s just more calorie.  I also avoid seconds.
When eating out I always leave half my meal on the plate.  I don’t order appetizers or desserts.  I prefer clean beautiful food over bar food.
For more about portions and preparing your kitchen for a healthier life, please email me, and I would be happy to send you my kitchen makeover.
See, I told you, I don’t just eat salad.  BTW I say that as I sit here in the Vegas airport eating a salad at 5 pm, which is also my first meal of the day.  I too, get busy and forget to eat; it’s a bad habit of many working woman and moms and is bad for the body.  It will be harder for me to work out tomorrow because I have not ate enough today, so I will pay for my mistake today.
