Are you rockin it?

Last night I continued to think about my post and people in my life, big and small.  I really thought about what the true definition of a Fatlete might be.  So here are my thoughts this morning,

A Fatlete is someone who has either over came a weight problem through exercise and good nutrition or a Fatlete is a big person who rocks their body everyday.  Did anyone else just hear Justin Timberlake music cued up?

I have a friend who is large and has struggled with her weight almost her whole life but I have never heard her make an excuse for her size.  She is who she is and she knows how she gained the weight.  She is beautiful and in her own words she is the kind of girl who can hang with the fellas.  Did anyone else just hear T Boz from TLC?

I would call this friend a Fat Free friend because she meets those criteria as I posted on my blog in my team beach body site www.teambeachbody.com/amycobine.  This woman reads and educates herself daily and can and will lay down the truth and set the record straight when needed.  She wants the best for herself, her friends, and her clients.  To top that all off she has a wicked sense of style and I have never seen a bad picture of her.  Her confidence and charm comes through in everything she does.  Along with being a fat free friend she also walks / hikes and eats a healthy diet, she is a Fatlete.

Another friend from back in the day is a plus size girl.  I never remember her ever being small.  I know some of her family and they all have bigger type bodies, I am not sayng fat I am just saying bigger.  However this person works out often and works out hard.  She gives 110%, she eats a healthy diet, but remains plus sized.  But let me tell you, this girl can rock a mini skirt and pair of high heels like no body's business!  She is the essence of hotness!  She is pretty inside and out and I would call her healthy.  She is both mentally and physically strong and it shows in everything she does.  She may be a Fatlete poster girl.

I could go on and on about the women I know who I see rockin it everyday.  They have kids and careers and they are smart enough to make time for themselves.  I don't hear excuses or lame stories about their thin days.  Yeah, I use to tell those stories... 'Well back in college I was a size 2"  If you find yourself talking about the good ole thin days follow it up with this sentence "Now I am ginormous and want you to delude yourself into thinking of me as a thin person."

I never said I think we should all be stick figures because that just isn't true but I do think we all should be healthy and again I want everyone to be the best person both mentally, emotionally, and physically they can be.

If you are sitting there right now and thinking either Amy is not describing me because I know I am not a Fatlete and I wish I was, or I know I am not at my best then to you I say start today and take the baby steps to start the process.  Write it down and make a plan.  What does the best you look like?  What does the best you sound and think like?  Do you have that picture in your head?  Ok start now.
